  • 10.5 oz (Approx Size: 7 x 2.5 inch) Pork Belly (300 g, Approx Size: 18 x 6.5 cm)
  • 1 tsp Coarse Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 8 slices Bacon
  • 6 oz Cream Cheese (Room Temp) (170 g)
  • 2/3 cup Shredded Red Cheddar Cheese (2 oz / 60 g)


  1. Rub the salt and pepper on the pork belly.
  2. Heat one teaspoon of lard in a frying pan or cast iron skillet over medium heat. Brown the pork belly on all sides.
  3. Preheat the oven to 200 C / 400 F.
  4. Lay 6 slices of bacon vertically on a cutting board, overlapping each slice a little bit. Then lay one slice horizontally on left side of the 6 slices, then one slice on the right side, overlapping each slice a little bit.
  5. Spread the cream cheese on the vertically laid bacon slices. Sprinkle the red cheddar on top.

  6. Wrap the pork belly with the bacon slices. (* Start from the horizontal ones.)

  7. Place the bacon wrapped pork belly on a baking sheet with the seam side down.

  8. Bake for about 40 minutes.

Adjust the ingredients according to the size of your pork belly.

Calories 462 kcal, Protein 14.8 g, Total Fats 42.9 g, Total Carbohydrates 0.8 g, Dietary Fiber 0 g, Sugar 0.8 g (* As you can see, the calories and fats are pretty high. Please be aware that an enormous amount of fat / juices is discarded while baking but I didn't (or don't know how to) subtract these values.)
