Naturally Sweetened Homemade Citrus Flavored Soda - Sugar Free

NATURALLY SWEETENED HOMEMADE CITRUS FLAVORED SODA –  Sugar Free

I like water, but I sometimes crave soda, or should I say ‘I crave the fizz’. Because I don’t drink from plastic bottles or cans (which I believe are bad for your health), I make my own using food grade citric acid and baking soda.

I used to add lemon juice, but I just wanted a different flavor, so I decided to buy orange flavored stevia. Ummmm, it was a nice decision. I drink it every day now.

I don’t miss cola at all and I’ve never tried this flavor, but Sweet Leaf has cola flavored stevia if you want to try.

These three are what I’ve tried. I just love the orange flavor so that’s all I buy now…

Ingredients

1 - With Citrus Flavored Stevia

  • 1 cup (240 cc) Cold Water
  • 1/3 tsp Citrus Flavored Liquid Stevia (Adjust to your liking)
  • 1/2 tsp (About 2 g) Citric Acid (Food Grade)
  • 1/2 tsp (About 2 g) Baking Soda (Food Grade) (See the Recipe Notes below)

  • 1 cup (240 cc) Cold Water

  • 1/4 tsp Liquid Stevia (Adjust to your liking)
  • 1/2 tsp (About 2.5 g) Baking Soda (Food Grade) (See the Recipe Notes below)
  • 1/4 tsp (About 1 g) Citric Acid (Food Grade) (Optional: Not necessary as lemon juice is used but I usually add some)

Instructions

1 - With Citrus Flavored Stevia

  1. In a glass of the cold water, add the flavored stevia (orange, lemon), citric acid and baking soda and mix lightly.

  2. Serve immediately. (The fizz won't last long (probably 10 - 20 minutes), so please make it right before serving.)

Recipe Notes

Cautions:

I've seen some posts on the Internet saying that the daily intake of baking soda should not exceed 5 grams (1 teaspoon), so that means it's up to 2 cups of this soda. Too much of anything is harmful for the body.

Please stick to the quantity in the recipe. Also do not keep in (plastic) bottles with a cap. Serve immediately. Please note that ketodietchannel.com does not take any responsibility or liability for any damage caused through this post.

Don't drink baking soda if you have liver disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure or edema, or if you are pregnant or nursing, or if you are taking medication. Children younger than five years should not drink baking soda either. Please search more information or consult your health professionals if you have any other medical conditions.
