PORK BURGER WRAPPED OKRA – Keto Friendly, Low Carb

This pork burger wrapped okra has a little bit of Japanese taste with soy sauce and ginger. I like the mix of soy sauce and ginger (plus a little bit of chili paste), so I often marinate beef or pork in them. I used ginger powder in the video, but please feel free to use fresh ginger. I usually use grated fresh ginger, but I didn’t find any organic ginger in nearby supermarkets and didn’t want to buy conventional ginger.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Pork (450 g)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Gluten Free Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Ginger Powder
  • 6 pods Okra
  • 2 tsp Lard

Sauce

  • 2 tsp Gluten Free Soy Sauce

Instructions

  1. Rinse the okra. Remove skin around top with calyx. Trim off the tip of the stem.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, salt, pepper, ginger powder and soy sauce. Knead the mixture until uniform. Divide the mixture into six equal portions. With each of the portions, wrap one pod of okra.

  3. Heat the lard in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the burger wrapped okra. Cook all sides until golden brown. Cook with a lid on until cooked through.

  4. Turn off the heat. Remove the burger wrapped okra from the pan.

Sauce

  1. To the grease left on the pan, add the soy sauce and mix well. Pour it over the burger wrapped okra.
