FRENCH SAVORY CAKE (CAKE SALE) – Low Carb, Keto, Gluten Free
This quick bread is actually called Cake Salé in France, which means “cake of salt”. It looks like a pound cake but tastes like quiche. This is super easy to make. All you need to do is just to mix all the ingredients and bake, but it tastes great 🙂
You can use other low carb ingredients such as bacon, olives, etc., instead of ham and broccoli. I just love the combination of ham, broccoli and cheese.

French Savory Cake (Cake Salé) / Low Carb / Keto / Gluten Free
- 3 Eggs
- 3 tbsp Melted Coconut Oil (About 28 g / 1 oz) (or Melted Unsalted Butter)
- 1/4 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese (30 g)
- 4 slices Ham, Chopped
- 1/2 cup Chopped Fresh Broccoli (50 g)
- 1 cup Almond Flour (100 - 110 g)
- 2 tbsp Parmesan Cheese Powder
- 1 tsp Alminum-Free Baking Powder
- 2/3 tsp Sea Salt
- 1 tbsp Whey Protein Powder
Preheat the oven to 180 C / 350 F. Grease a loaf pan (8 x 4 inch / 20 x 10 cm) or line with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk well the eggs and coconut oil.
Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and mix well.
Add the shredded cheese, ham and broccoli and stir lightly with a spatula.
Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Bake for 40 - 45 minutes. (Insert a wooden skewer and make sure it comes out clean.)
Let it cool on a wire rack.
Store them in the fridge. Reheat in a toaster oven / oven for 2 - 3 minutes before serving.
